Senior SAP Consultant

Girteka is Europe’s largest asset-based logistics company, operating across the continent and supporting the supply chains that businesses and communities rely on every day. Behind every delivery there are more than 15,000 professionals who take accountability for results, apply their expertise to solve complex challenges, and collaborate as one team across countries and functions.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior SAP Consultant to support and develop asset and maintenance management capabilities for one of Europe's largest transport fleets. In this role, you will drive SAP EAM solution design, process optimization, and transformation initiatives that directly impact fleet availability, maintenance efficiency, and operational performance.

What we expect from you:

  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP EAM and/or comparable SAP asset management solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of standard SAP EAM processes, functionalities, and configuration.
  • Proven track of hands-on SAP configuration/customizing experience.
  • Experience working on complex integrations between SAP EAM and related SAP or non-SAP solutions.
  • Solid understanding of SAP architecture and cross-module integration, including integration with external systems.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with Solution Owners to design and implement effective SAP solutions.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable SAP solution designs.
  • Experience creating and reviewing functional specifications and working closely with developers on solution implementation.
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or other relevant delivery methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to address complex issues and drive them to resolution.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced SAP consultants and contributing to knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and proactively identify opportunities for process and system improvements.
  • Good English communication skills.

What you will do:

  • Analyse business processes and requirements and define appropriate SAP EAM solutions aligned with business objectives and SAP best practices.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders by challenging requirements, proposing alternative approaches, and balancing business value with long-term solution maintainability.
  • Work closely with business users and business process managers.
  • Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities to optimize, standardize, and simplify asset management processes.
  • Lead the resolution of complex business and system challenges by identifying root causes and implementing sustainable process and system improvements.
  • Review proposed solutions and ensure that development meets functional, integration, and quality requirements.
  • Define and oversee test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases, supporting system integration, user acceptance, and regression testing.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other SAP EAM consultants, contributing to team capability and best-practice development.
  • Take ownership of complex production issues, coordinate root-cause analysis, and drive sustainable solutions rather than short-term fixes.
  • Maintain and continuously improve documentation covering solution designs, configurations, processes, integrations, and operational procedures.
  • Stay current with SAP EAM innovations, S/4HANA developments, industry trends, and emerging asset management best practices.
