Engineering Manager

Main Purpose of the Job

The purpose of the role is to lead and develop a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers, helping them deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable data and BI solutions. The Engineering Manager supports strong engineering practices, team collaboration, and continuous improvement, while working closely with the Product Owner and architects to balance delivery needs with long-term technical quality.

What can you expect your day to look like?

• Lead a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers, fostering collaboration, ownership, and a healthy team culture.

• Drive technical excellence in data engineering and BI practices, promoting scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

• Contribute to the technology roadmap and architecture discussions in collaboration with the Solution Architect, Product Owner, and engineering team.

• Partner with the Product Owner and architects to balance delivery goals with technical health, maintainability, reliability, and long-term platform direction.

• Support technical decision-making by helping the team evaluate trade-offs, follow agreed standards, and apply engineering best practices.

• Strengthen engineering practices across code review, testing, documentation, version control, monitoring, deployment, and operational reliability.

• Support engineering delivery by removing blockers, managing technical dependencies and risks, and enabling a sustainable delivery pace.

• Develop and coach team members through regular feedback, career growth discussions, performance management, hiring, and onboarding.

• Facilitate Scrum/Agile ceremonies and team processes, promoting effective planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.

Salary Range: 6170 - 7400 EUR Gross
