Main Purpose of the Job

This role serves as a key leadership position for Girteka Business Services (GBS), responsible for overseeing Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and other core accounting operations. Reporting directly to the Girteka Group Head of Accounting and under matrix line reporting to the General Manager of GBS, this position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement and strategic evolution of Girteka’s financial operations, ensuring excellence in accounting practices and business performance.

Additionally, this position plays an instrumental role in fostering cultural and operational integration between the Competence Center and GBS teams, ensuring seamless coordination, driving operational efficiency, compliance, and alignment across accounting operations.

What can you expect your day to look like?

  • Leadership and Coordination:
    • Support Girteka Group Head of Accounting and AP/AR managers in strategy and process optimization.
    • Ensure cultural and operational integration between Competence Center and GBS teams.
    • Develop strategies for efficiency, training needs and resource optimization.
  • Process Alignment and Resource Optimization:
    • Align GBS team leads with Girteka’s accounting structure, ensuring standardized processes.
    • Monitor GBS accounting workload, identifying gaps, ensure cross-training and resources for team flexibility.
    • Ensure compliance with best practices, regulatory standards, global policies and audit controls.
    • Maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Process Improvement and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Drive process improvements and projects supporting innovation and operational excellence.
    • Contribute to projects enhancing efficiency, automation and service delivery.
    • Foster strong cross-departmental relationships for team cooperation.
    • Collaborate with Accounting Managers and Team Leads to align strategies and drive best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Issue Resolution:
    • Maintain strong relationships with internal units, external partners and stakeholders.
    • Resolve payment and vendor issues promptly and accurately.
    • Address internal customer queries with professionalism and responsiveness.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Execute ad-hoc tasks and duties assigned by the direct manager.
    • Oversee adherence to Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and operational resilience.

What do we expect from you?

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, and regulatory compliance
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Proven leadership capabilities to oversee and develop high-performing teams
  • Strategic and analytical thinking to drive process improvements and enhance operational effectiveness
  • Adaptability and resilience to navigate a fast-paced, evolving business landscape
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders at various levels
  • Ability to travel within the EU
