Cloud Engineer

Girteka Business Services (GBS) - shared services organization in Georgia, Tbilisi - was established in 2022 with a strategic goal to hire local talent to meet the Girteka Group’s business growth need internationally. We believe extended talent pool in Georgia will allow Girteka to increase its operational capabilities in Europe, Nordics and internationally.

We are looking for a driven and proactive Cloud Engineer to join our team. The role is based in Georgia, Tbilisi. As GBS is rapidly growing across various business units, this role will suit to someone who loves to work in fast-paced, dynamic work environment, and is capable to deliver effective, personable services to businesses to help drive the business growth forward through its rising talents. 

Responsibilities:

• Cloud Spend Accountability: Responsible for managing and being accountable for cloud spend across AWS.
• AWS Cloud Infrastructure: Handle and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure components, including S3, EC2, VPC, and IAM.
• Cloud Security: Implement and enforce strong cloud security practices, including preparing IAM policies for AWS.
• Networking: Manage and troubleshoot networking components, including TCP/IP, switching, routing, and VPN configurations.
• Scripting/Development: Utilize basic scripting skills in BASH or Python to automate processes and tasks.
• Documentation: Ensure meticulous documentation of information and processes, maintaining accuracy and detail.
• Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve technical issues, providing effective troubleshooting support.
• Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate effectively with inter-team members to achieve project goals.

Expectations:

• Cloud Knowledge: Possess a solid understanding of AWS Cloud infrastructure, with familiarity in Azure and GCP.
• Security Expertise: Demonstrate strong knowledge of cloud security practices and IAM policy preparation, particularly in AWS.
• Communication Skills: Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Attention to Detail: Display a detail-oriented approach in all tasks, especially in documentation and process management.
• Analytical Skills: Showcase strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and problem resolution.

Bonus Points:

• Certifications: Holding cloud certifications is a plus.
• Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring systems such as Zabbix or Grafana.
• Automation Proficiency: Proficiency in automation tools like Ansible.
• Log Aggregation: Familiarity with log aggregation tools.

• Base monthly salary: The specific salary offered will depend on the candidate‘s experience, competencies displayed, and suitability to the requirements of the position. Remuneration and variable extras offered will be based on experience, competence and compliance with the other requirements for the position.
